10G SR Transmission up to 400m

Short range 10G over multimode (50/125) fibre

SFP+ 10G SR transceivers are hot-pluggable 10GBASE Ethernet modules for transmitting over multimode (50/125) fibre. 10G SR transceivers are typically used in the core and aggregation layers of data centres and in enterprise networking, and are a commonly used, low power consumption and cost effective option.

10GBASE SR

SFP+ SR transceivers transmit over a pair of fibres using an LC duplex port. Using a VCSEL transmitter, the SFP+ SR transceiver module uses a wavelength of 850nm to transmit up to 300m (OM3) or 400m (OM4).

These transceivers can connect directly to another SFP+ 10G SR transceiver or a QSFP+ 40G SR4 transceiver as part of a connection between a 10G port and a 40G port.

Compliance

All SFP+ SR transceivers are compliant with SFF-8431, SFF-8432, IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR/SW and 10G Fibre Channel 1200-Mx-SN-I4.
